Creating in Siser Leonardo Design Studio

Let’s Design in the Siser Leonardo Design Studio

Some of you find the New Siser Leonardo Design Studio to be a bit intimidating, but there is so much you can do with it.

Like this Design here.

*Keep in mind that this software is new to Siser and so updates to the Design Studio will be happening regularly. So be sure to check for software updates in the Help section.

First thing first, we are opening our Siser Leonardo Design Studio.

Next pick the shapes tool which will be in the toolbar located to the bottom left. This looks like a square and as you hover over it you will see a circle, heart and star shape. Choose the heart. By holding down your left mouse button you can drag it to the desired size and shape you like, and by just clicking the mouse, it will stamp it and you may resize from there as well.

We are going to duplicate this shape 6 times as we are layering the hearts to give it that 3D effect.

Next we choose our phrases or messages for the hearts. Choose a font that will stand out and be easy to cut and weed. Center your message in the heart by selecting both the message and the heart and clicking the align tool and center. This  tool is the last one on the toolbar to your right.

While those are both selected and you have centered it, you will then select the MAKE COMPOUND PATH tool that looks like a square with a hole in it, and that will subtract the word from the heart. Now the word will be cut out of your heart for the design. Do this to all your hearts with messages.

Once you have finished and you are happy with everything we are going to send the design to cut. Go through and make sure you check the MIRROR box as this is HTV. If making stickers, no need to mirror.

Click send and watch the magic happen, this machine is so quiet and precise it is a pleasure to cut all designs with. No matter how intricate.

Once done and all is cut it is time to weed, layer and to heat press.

As I have so many layers, I am heating at 310 and pressing each layer for only 5-6 seconds so as to not burn my Vinyl.

I am also using a teflon sheet for extra protection.

I hope you found this helpful.
